I'm
KARL WITHAKAY... It's not
my real name. My real name is Karl Westerberg. But when
introducing myself as Karl I always said my name was "with
a K" because I dispised the thought that
people might think my name was Carl – with a C.
It makes a difference, you know. Carl is the guy who enjoyed
high school biology a little too much. Carl is the guy
that wears funny ties in accounts recievable. Carl is
the guy at the local bar who lost a finger down at the
factory in '87.
I'm
Karl (with a K) and when I would introduce myself
as such, people thought that that was my name –
first and last. They thought is was coincidentally clever...or
that I was somehow Native American...And since I'm setting
the record straight, I'm not a Native American, and it's
not a coincidence that I'm clever.
I
am an award-winning graphic designer working at a prestigious
design firm in midtown Manhattan. I also run a successful
freelance business out of my own home. I graduated with
a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree at the top of his class
from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and soon moved
to New York City. I have designed for some of the most
celebrated companies in the country: United States Postal
Service, Crayola, MTV, D.C. Comics, Warner Bros., Major
League Soccer, Hasbro and World Poker Tour.
